AMI’s new X-Series VDR and interfaces have been developed to comply to the requirements of MSC.333(90) and IEC61996-1 Ed.2.0.
Under the new regulations for Voyage Data Recorders, the system should have both FIXED and FLOAT FREE CAPSULE which are capable to save a minimum of 48 hours voyage data. In addition, a long term storage medium will record 30 days of data before the oldest files are overwritten with new data.
New VDRs will now be able to record ECDIS (over Ethernet), as well as the second radar.
