Marine Asset Tracker

FMT-MAT-V1 is an advanced vessel tracking system built around the Orbcomm ST6100 terminal, with global satellite connectivity over the Inmarsat IsatData Pro network.

The solution enables companies to track and monitor vessels and boats, improving visibility of fleet operations, operational efficiency, vessel safety and security while helping to lower operating costs.

The terminal works with Falcon Mega Solutions-developed software that adds time-based and distance-based tracking, vessel power monitoring, V-Mail satellite messaging and remote fleet control through the FMT Control Panel.

Key Benefits

The FMT-MAT-V1 combines a satellite terminal with fleet-management software to support vessel monitoring and communication.

Time-Based Tracking

Configure automatic position reporting at selected time intervals to maintain visibility of vessel movements.

Distance-Based Tracking

Generate tracking reports based on distance travelled, providing another way to manage position-report frequency.

Power Monitoring

Monitor the power supply to the onboard terminal and receive warnings when power failure or restoration is detected.

V-Mail Satellite Communication

Use the V-Mail messaging solution for satellite communication through compatible FMT terminals.

FMT Control Panel

Access a secure, HTTPS-encrypted and password-protected web application for control of FMT terminals installed onboard vessels.

Fleet Usage Visibility

Review prepaid FMT-Unit consumption and online airtime usage history through the control platform.

Technology & Satellite Connectivity

FMT-MAT-V1 uses an Orbcomm IsatData Pro satellite terminal and robust hardware designed for the marine environment. Its tracking and fleet-control services are supported by servers described by the manufacturer as operating around the clock, with a stated 99.99% uptime.

The FMT Control Panel is accessed securely through HTTPS. The prepaid billing platform provides online access to billing and usage history, while V-Mail is designed to support messaging through compatible IDP terminals.

IsatData Pro at a glance

  • Global, two-way satellite service
  • Messaging capability stated as up to 6.4/10 kB from/to device
  • Low latency, stated as under 15 seconds for 100 bytes
  • Broadcasting and multicasting support
  • Cost-effective data plans and pooling options

Tracking & System Reports

The system provides several report types to help vessel operators and fleet managers monitor activity and equipment status.

  • Automatic Position Report (APR): time-based position reporting.
  • Track by Distance: distance-based position reporting.
  • Poll for a Position: request a position report on demand.
  • Power Failure and Restore Warnings: notifications when terminal power is interrupted or restored.
  • FMT-Unit Usage Reports: weekly and monthly airtime usage reporting.

GNSS Jamming & Spoofing Resilience

The manufacturer describes enhanced support for multi-constellation GNSS, including GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou, with intelligent and configurable signal selection.

If one GNSS source becomes weak, disrupted or unreliable due to jamming or spoofing, the system can be configured over the air to use another available source. Actual performance depends on signal availability, configuration and operating conditions.
